Razia SAMSAT vehicle checks

A mobile-first web app for roadside vehicle raids: officers type a plate number and instantly see the vehicle and tax status, while every check is logged per raid session.

The problem

Officers checking vehicles at the roadside needed plate lookups fast enough to keep a queue moving, with a clear record of what was checked in each raid and no sensitive owner data leaking into logs.

What I built

A React scanner backed by a Hono API on Cloudflare Workers and D1. Each raid keeps one snapshot per plate, and admins can switch globally between the BPAD source and the Potensi NTT dataset through versioned, audited settings, with no silent fallback between them. A CI guard checks every binding and secret before a release is activated.

The result

Running in production for SAMSAT Kota Kupang with automatic deploys from GitHub. In production tests, plate results appeared in a median of 345 ms to about 1 second depending on upstream load, and switching data sources needs no redeploy.

P.S.

If your team still runs on spreadsheets, let’s fix that.

Twenty minutes, no deck. Bring the workflow that slows you down and I’ll tell you what I’d build first, even if we never work together.
