The problem
Working out the amount due by hand meant juggling regulation tables, relief rules and fees, and different officers could arrive at different totals for the same vehicle.
What I built
A four-step React form with a pure tax engine, plate lookup through the provincial vehicle data API, automatic earthquake-relief eligibility for affected regencies (with manual override), and an itemised breakdown that copies straight to the clipboard. Sensitive owner data never reaches the browser.
The result
Live at kalkulator.uptdpenda-kupang.web.id as an installable PWA, with regression tests guarding the tax engine on every change.
